FARM ESTATE | Greenwich's Copper Beech Farm sells for $139M, notching new record for priciest CT home sale in history
GREENWICH — Copper Beech Farm, a sprawling 50-acre estate on Greenwich’s coastline, has sold for $138,830,000, setting a new record for most expensive residential real estate ever sold in Connecticut, according to real estate agents involved in the sale.The estate at 499 Indian Field Road near Bruce Park features a 13,500-square-foot primary residence on a private peninsula. It was put on the market for $150 million in February and the sale of the property was announced Aug. 2.
Greenwich real estate team Leslie McElwreath and Joseph Barbieri of Sotheby's International Realty facilitated the sale, along with Nikki Field of Sotheby's East Side Manhattan Brokerage. Stephanie Bo Li of Douglas Elliman represented the buyer.
“Copper Beech Farm is the crown jewel of the Greenwich coastline,” McElwreath said in a statement. “It’s an awe-inspiring compound complete with every conceivable luxury for a sophisticated live, work and play retreat.”
Sotheby’s would not identify the buyer in the transaction and property records list LCT Range, LLC as the buyer. LCT Range is registered in Delaware and it was established in March 2022.
Property records name the previous owner as an LLC called “The Conservation Institute.”
